The Studio

Environments shaped by story, location, and the people who experience them.

GVD is a multidisciplinary interior design studio creating residential and commercial environments shaped by story, location, and the people who experience them.

Our approach

(a) — The Studio

Our work begins with listening. We seek to understand not only how a space should look, but how it should feel, function, and support the rhythms of everyday life. Each project is approached as its own narrative, guided by the architecture, informed by its surroundings, and layered with the experiences, references, and objects that make it personal.

Rather than imposing a singular aesthetic, we develop a distinct visual language for every project. Architectural rigor is balanced with warmth and ease; refined materials are offset by moments of character; and vintage, custom, and contemporary elements are composed to create spaces that feel collected over time. The result is considered but never overly designed, sophisticated without formality, and enduring rather than trend-driven.

Working collaboratively with clients, architects, builders, craftspeople, and artists, the studio oversees every layer of the process — from early concept and spatial planning through material development, custom furnishings, art, styling, and final installation. This holistic approach allows the original vision to remain clear and cohesive from the broadest architectural gesture to the smallest detail.

Whether developing a private residence, GVD designs spaces that invite connection, reveal themselves over time, are timelessly relevant and feel as compelling to inhabit as they are to experience.

George Vincent — Founder

About George

George Vincent creates interiors with a distinct sense of story, architectural and tailored, yet relaxed and collected; sophisticated and refined, but never too precious to be lived in comfortably. Guided by curiosity rather than a signature aesthetic, he approaches each project through the lens of its architecture, the spirit of its setting, and the lives of the people who inhabit it. He has an instinct for translating the meaningful moments, experiences, and influences that have shaped his clients into spaces that reflect who they are and where they are in their lives.

His creative perspective was shaped in New York during a decade at Ralph Lauren, where he served in senior executive roles spanning fashion, global windows, interiors, and creative services. From award-winning installations to luxury flagship environments, he developed a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, proportion, scale, atmosphere, and the transformative power of a thoughtfully composed space.

George went on to lead creative work for brands including Tommy Hilfiger, American Apparel, Moose Knuckles, The Standard, and Aperol Spritz, building a multidisciplinary career across fashion, retail, hospitality, experiential, and residential design. He later served as Design Director for several interior design studios, further refining both his design sensibility and his understanding of how exceptional projects are conceived, managed, and brought to life. Through GVD, this breadth of experience has evolved into a practice encompassing commercial interiors, hospitality, and retail, with an emphasis on residential, both new builds and full-scale remodels.

Today, his work brings together the rigor of his East Coast roots and the ease of his West Coast life. The result is layered, collected, and deeply personal — spaces that feel considered without feeling overly designed, refined yet grounded in how people actually live.

At the heart of George’s practice is a simple belief: great design should tell a story, create connection, and feel as compelling as it looks.

How we think

(b) — Values

Light first

Every commission begins with a study of how the room is lit at different hours — the material choices follow.

Few, better things

We take on a limited number of projects each year so every space receives slow, undivided attention.

Built to age

Natural materials and honest construction, designed to look better in ten years than on the day we leave.

Let’s give your space its light.
